enlightenment.
went for CIP with jiali ruthu christu rhoda and bengahs today. we went to the touch thinkers centre at clementi, and basically the kids there are under privileged children, or children who come from a single parent family. and we taught them english, read them storybooks, watched them play andplayed with them. it taught me a lot, even though it was just three hours.
i realized that children will always remain children, playful, unfocused, childish, with little sense of consideration. but they are lovable, and all they need is attention and care. and it reminded me of my childhood, when i would read little story books about country and town mice, do silly multiple choice questions about eating pies and sulky grandmas, and hiding in the corner and crying when nobody wanted to play. i really really want to go back, and i really want to make the lives of these children a bit brighter. even if it is only for that three or so hours, at lest they were happy for that three or so hours. and to make things better, i saw a little caucasian boy while i was walking home. he was was walking a black cocker spaniel with his maid, and he was dressed in the incredibles suit. complete with black underwear on the outside and everything.
it made me smile all the way home, and wonder why people only scold superman for wearing his red underwear outside.
